I was waiting for a friend at Parkway’s Starbucks, leaning back and enjoying my white chocolate latte when this lady who look like she’s in her mid twenties caught my eye. Her friend had just joined her at her table and her full attention was on her friend. She looked at her friend intently, a half smile on her face. Her friend did most of the talking and although she was engaged in a wide variety of actions such as shifting her position, lighting up her cigarette, the full attention she gave her friend never wavered.

Her friend spoke very animated with lots of hand actions and during many points, the lady smiled and let out loud bursts of laughter. My assumption was that her friend was ranting about her life and some of the more comical incidents that may have happened to her. They may even have met up just so her friend could rant to her. Throughout the conversation, the smile never left her face and there was only one short period of time when she did the talking, which I assume that she was dishing out advice to her friend.

I was with… X at Raffles Place for this girlfriend. Prior to that, we were chatting about Mananchester United, football, our lives and we pretty much enjoyed each other’s company.

But when we were waiting, his frustration and impatience became very obvious. While we still chatted, I noticed that he fidgeted a lot more. He would aim kicks in the air absentmindedly, twisting and turning his head to lookout for his girlfriend. Even as he spoke, there was the hint of irritation on his face.

When his girlfriend arrived, I could see an instant change in his body language. He walked after her with an extra spring in his step. There was now enthusiasm in his voice as he spoke, his eyes constantly looking into hers and his hand twirling her hair. We parted when their train arrived.

I didn’t ask him much about them, but it was pretty obvious that he cared a lot about her, and I would wager that they go a few years back. Yeah.

There is very little about the physicality of the two characters in your descriptions and I would’ve liked to see more of that. Also, your thoughts on their actions and behaviour are quite scant and not nearly deep enough to give you material for development.
